Volunteer agreement form 24-25

Dear Volunteer,

Thank you for being willing to give your time and energy at GrowTH’s night shelter to serve our guests. We have some simple volunteer guidelines that we ask all volunteers to agree to by signing the declaration below.

VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES
For further details, speak to a GrowTH member of staff or consult the log folder for the shelter guidelines, health and safety, shelter rules and timetable.

Our volunteers agree to:

* Welcome all guests without discrimination or favour.

* Follow GrowTH’s policies and procedures, including equal opportunities, confidentiality, health and safety and adherence to the Charter for Christian Homelessness Agencies. All relevant documents can be found in the log folder at the shelter.

* Follow the directions of the GrowTH Advocate Worker and church coordinators.

BE CAREFUL: Please do not give money or your address to a guest. Please do not give out your phone number UNLESS it has first been authorised by a member of GrowTH staff. Please do not arrange to meet a guest alone outside the shelter and do not offer shelter to a guest in your own home. If you have concerns about the guest or would like to help them, please speak with your church co-ordinator who will liaise with GrowTH staff.

BE SAFE: Be aware of your safety and if you feel unsafe speak to the church co-ordinator. Please do not isolate yourself with a guest in the shelter; do have at least one other volunteer present when you are with guests.

TRAINING: We ask all volunteers to watch our online training video BEFORE you volunteer. The link to this 15 minute video is further down the form. Please note that coordinators will receive separate and more in-depth training.
